JOHNNY AND BILLY JEAN

by Stan C. Countz

Little Johnny’s fifteen / wants to be Charlie Sheen
He’s never wrong, knows everything
He's gonna be a strong marine
Wants to be the best he can be

His girlfriend Billy Jean wants to be a beauty queen
Thinks she wants to be in movies or in magazines
She’s a wannabe hottie who doesn’t wannabe naughty
But her body is never gonna be that long and lean

Little Johnny and Billy Jean “My how they have grown”
Things aren’t the way they seem / If only I had known
Soon they’re gonna graduate and start a life on their own
Only then will they appreciate what they had back at home

CHORUS
‘Cuz you only appreciate somethin’ when you no longer have it
You were made for somethin’ great So reach out a grab it
So don’t hesitate / throw off those hang-ups, hurts and habits
Don’t have to be an angel or a saint
Don’t have to be somethin’ you ain’t
Just be the best you that you can be
And that’ll be good enough for me

Out on the town for a night of fun
Foolin’ around just turned twenty one
Found themselves on the wrong end of a gun
Some things can never be undone

BRIDGE
Johnny and Billy Jean seemed to be in great shape
Who could’ve seen this would be their last date?
But only Jesus knows the length of our days
It may not be too late to change your ways

CHORUS

OUTRO
Johnny and Billy Jean "My how they have grown”
Things aren’t the way they seem if only I had known
I’ll see you in my dreams or when I’m all alone
Johnny and Billy Jean finally made it home
